RENEE GIELEN: "WHY HASN'T THE FAMILY BEEN INVESTIGATED?"

ORANJESTAD – With her documentary “Natalee. The Unrevealed Timelines’ which premiered on Telearuba on Saturday, the movie maker Renee Gielen wanted to once more emphasize the reputed, ‘dubious’ role the Holloway family played in the disappearance of Natalee. Various speakers repeat what has already had a lot of attention in the media: why hasn’t the family been investigated? Did the FBI thwart the investigation? Was there political pressure put on the Kingdom?

One of the former head of the Holloway investigation, Gerold Dompig, has answered all these questions to Gielen, just as he did previously in front of the Dutch tv program ‘Netwerk’ and ‘EenVandaag’. The film maker had already heard it when she spoke to him last year. After Dompig was sidetracked by the FBI, was threatened by the FBI and was put under pressure by the American consul on Curaçao, he revealed to every journalist which asked him that there were obscure interests at stake.

According to him the highest ranks saw to it that the investigation did not focus on the Holloway family themselves. This was possible due to the fact that the Holloway family counted the American vice-president Dick Cheney as part of their circle of friends, says Dompig in the documentary. He was responsible for having set the case rolling. That is why also the American minister of Foreign Affairs Condoleeza Rice had contact with the Dutch government. That is why expensive F-16 planes were sent to Aruba to scan the island. This is all brought forward by Gielen in her movie in which she shows how the Justice department never actually gave a clear reaction to the public.

“The approach of this documentary is not sensational and is not meant to deal with Joran van der Sloot”, says the Curacaoan film maker right before the premier. “I focus on aspects of the case which others left lying.” She traveled to the US, to the state of Alabama where the Holloway family come from. She did not achieve however, with the exception of Natalee’s father Dave, to come into contact with her friends. Dompig experienced the same thing when he wanted to question them, but this is being prevented on a diplomatic level, Gielen reveals. She did manage to interview a well-known American dj in the US which had his doubts from the beginning about the American interference in the case. “And why a boycott against the whole country (Aruba), while there are cases in the US where Danish people and Germans have disappeared”, he points out.

Except for Dompig, Gielen also talked to various people on Aruba about the case. Apparently an ambulance plane had arrived on Aruba (too) shortly after the disappearance of the girl to fly her to the US once found, an account which Gielen had already revealed to the media. The plane had stood on standby on the airport for days, without having informed the Aruban authorities. Why was it better to keep this from the Aruban authorities? There’s also the question as to why the family left the police in uncertainty about a possible golden tip which mother Beth received shortly after the disappearance? A lot of questions which also Gielen doesn’t have the answers to in the documentary, but which remain fascinating.

ORANJESTAD – Renown scientists believe that the ‘tv-confession’ by Joran van der Sloot (21) about his involvement in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway is reliable. Their statement was made after crime reporter Peter R. De Vries requested to review the conversations between Van der Sloot and infiltrator Patrick van der Eem. The scholars don’t believe that Joran lied, which he claimed he did after the results of the undercover action. Also concerning the reputed trafficking in women, Van der Sloot reported that it was bluff.

According to professor of psychology Harald Merkelback, Joran felt ‘at ease’ in the car. “His story against Van der Eem made a very authentic impression. A crucial moment lies in the movements he makes when he says that Natalee started trembling. You don’t act like that when a story is fabricated.” The scientists Corine de Ruiter (forensic psychology) and Peter van Koppen (legal psychology) also believe that the story doesn’t come over rehearsed.

In yesterday’s broadcast by De Vries, a friend of the suspect by the name of Celes said that Van der Sloot made insinuations about getting rid of a body and hinted that his father knew more about the case. “Only one person knows exactly what happened. He made Joran always lie and twist things around”. The friend had given an detailed testimony at the Dutch investigation bureau.

Public Prosecution

The Public Prosecutor in the Netherlands will not be taking any steps yet after the broadcast. “If there’s a case of a criminal offence, then further investigation has to be done”, says a spokesperson of the National Prosecutor’s Office. “Punishable acts are not determined on the basis of a television broadcast.”

The Public Prosecution on Aruba is still conferring about a possible reaction, says spokesperson Ann Angela. Also about whether the ‘new witness’ plays a role in the investigation. Only in December will they decide whether or not action will be taken against Van der Sloot. His testimonies on tv seem to be insufficient material for the Justice Department to prosecute him.

Whether the Public Prosecution will also investigate possible criminal practices of the 21 year old Van der Sloot is left in the middle. It is possible that the Thai authorities will act as according to criminal reporter De Vries, while in the Thai capital Bangkok Van der Sloot proposed to pay Thai women to go to the Netherlands to work for the sex industry. It did not result in real business. In the new undercover action Van der Sloot did accept a downpayment of 1000 euros for the preparations of this ‘human trafficking’, something which could be punishable.

Fugitive

Joran van der Sloot did not wait for the Thai authorities. According to the Dutch media he’s on the run after he was exposed as a trafficker of women on Sunday. Shortly before the broadcast yesterday of De Vries’ program he disappeared without a trace. The Thai justice department has woken up following the commotion surrounding the case and has asked the Dutch embassy for video material.

“They want the broadcast translated, so that the Justice Department in Thailand can view it from a criminal point of view”, decalred De Vries today. “They have told me that they will come into action as the approach to trafficking of women is very important.” The Thai embassy wasn’t available for comments today.

Joran van der Sloot has threatened to send a hired killer from Thailand to Peter R. de Vries if the criminal reporter doesn’t stop trailing him or approaching Van der Sloots’ friends or family. “If it really is bullshit again, I will send someone for him”, wrote Van der Sloot this week in an msn-message.

According to a witness, Joran was at a party in Bangkok last Friday evening, but didn’t return home after that. Another man claims to have seen him on an inland flight to the island of Koh Samui off the Thai coast. Van der Sloot’s lawyer, Bert de Rooij, reported that the talks with his client are strenuous.

Millions of viewers

According to the figures by the Nederlandse Stichting KijkOnderzoek (Dutch viewers research foundation) De Vries’ broadcast last night attracted almost 3.5 million viewers. That’s half of the number of viewers which followed Van der Sloot’s confession at the beginning of the year in a broadcast about Natalee Holloway. The broadcast wasn’t aired on Aruba or in the Netherlands Antilles.

It's been three years since Natalee has been gone, now coming up on the the 3rd anniversary and this is the crap that is posted in your paper? What in the hell does it have to do with the fact that Natalee was last seen with Joran? What does it have to do with the fact that Natalee was most likely drugged and according to Joran, was cast into the ocean after he thought she overdosed? What does this story have to do with ANYTHING? Does it shed light on the vast lies told by not only all the perpetrators, but the police, the "witnesses", the government, the Aruban Tourism Agency? NO. It does nothing but make them look like asses by trying to discredit Beth Holloway...a woman who has no reason to lie.


This isn't a smoke screen. It's a pathetic excuse to fill up that white space in that pathetic Aruban paper.

‘New’ evidence reinforces Beth Twitty’s lie

WILLEMSTAD/ORANJESTAD – From a print-out of Natalee Holloway’s telephone it appears that the private jet of her mother Beth had already landed in Aruba at 17:15 on May 30. At least, that’s what TV-producer from Curacao, Renée Gielen says. She has the telephone print-out of Natalee’s cellular telephone. This is very striking, says Gielen, because according to her, it means that Beth Holloway wanted to come to Aruba before Natalee was missing. “The print-out shows that Beth had called Natalee’s cell at 17:15. She did that from her own cell and she could not have done that while being in the air.”


She emphasizes that it also means that the call was not done with a satellite telephone and it is also not probable that Beth’s private jet had made an intermediate landing from the United States. “That is not usual on these short flights. For that matter, she must have left even earlier.” The print-out doesn’t show that it was a missed call, but that Beth had really talked to someone.


Gielen assumes that she had talked to Paul Lilly, one of the chaperones of Natalee during her vacation in Aruba. Besides, when Beth arrived in Aruba, she was carrying a stack of posters asking Natalee to call her. “This suggests that Beth must have known that there were problems, before Natalee disappeared”, says Gielen, who from the beginning of the disappearance case three years ago, is investigating the case.


Gielen and her team are now in the process of rounding off the documentary ‘‘Natalee, The Unrevealed Time Lines’ that is expected to be presented on June 2.

MISTAKEN

Gielen considers the print-out as new evidence that Beth had lied about the exact time of her arrival in Aruba. She has been declaring all along that she arrived in Aruba ‘around 23:00’. She also wrote this in her book ‘Loving Natalee’ that was published late last year. A former employee of the airport, Alberto G, said before the cameras of Gielen that the private-jet of Beth had landed at 19:45. He retracted his declaration, because, as he said, he was mistaken. He did this after the Americans Dan Young and Kelly Castillo that claim to be detectives, showed a computer print-out indicating that Beth had arrived earlier. G. confirmed the authenticity of that print-out.


The motive of Beth lying about her arrival time is still not clear. Despite many telephone calls and e-mails, Gielen didn’t manage to reach Beth. Also the police don’t know anything. “The police say that there are no telephone data available from the radio tower equipment for that day, which is very coincidentally” says Gielen. Former chief of police, Gerald Dompig told this newspaper earlier that at that time, the police had investigated the time line, the flight data, and also the flight movements.

(Source)--Aruba's chief prosecutor said he will close the case of missing American teenager Natalee Holloway by the end of the month unless his office finds that there is enough evidence to charge someone with a major crime. (How about lying to police? Disposing of a corpse? Is that not a major crime?)

The prosecutor, Hans Mos, said he would not comment about the kind of evidence his office is reviewing but that he does not anticipate finding Holloway's remains and prosecuting a case without them would be "very hard."

"We promised the suspects that after Dec. 31, we will not pursue the case," Mos told The Associated Press Friday. "This investigation should end at a certain point." (This case will NEVER end, Aruba! You can BET on that!) No one has been formally charged in the investigation, which critics have said was botched in its early stages by Aruban authorities.

How about getting an entirely different panel of judges! And as far as I know, Rick Smid-the squid was the only one that made the decision. Correct me if I'm wrong...)

Mos told the AP he will drop the case unless prosecutors in his office agree before the New Year that they have strong enough evidence to go to court. (The claimed to have strong evidence before! They are talking out of their asses!)

He said he imposed the deadline himself earlier this year because he feels two years is a reasonable amount of time for bringing charges against someone. (There is no statute of limitations in a murder case! This case will NEVER go away, Aruba!!! You think your tourism has dropped now? JUST WAIT... We Americans don't forget!)

Mos said he and the Holloway family feel pursuing a minor charge "doesn't serve a purpose." A person convicted of making a body disappear, for example, would serve only six months in prison, he said. (In that case we would then KNOW who did it...that is all the family wants. ANSWERS!!! I highly doubt that Beth or Dave would say "doesn't serve a purpose." They just want to know what happened to their daughter!)

..."We have a strong conviction that something happened that night, and that it was a very serious thing," Mos said. "The question is whether we are able to prove it." He said he does not anticipate ever finding Holloway's remains. (We will see about that!)

"It's very hard to try a case without a body," he said. "It's not impossible, but you need substantial evidence that somebody was killed." (Then why did Dompig and others state that Natalee is dead? Remember Dompig? You stated that she died from an "overdose". We all know that if that is true, it wasn't from her own doing. She was drugged, and to me that is at least involuntary manslaughter, lying to police and disposal of a body!)

..."The Aruban prosecution is going around in circles," said Joseph Tacopina, one of van der Sloot's attorneys. "They've bumbled this case from the beginning." (Joe...let me tell you this. You have NO jurisdiction to discuss this case. You were Joran's CIVIL ATTORNEY in New York! You don't know the Aruban laws and you certainly don't have a right to practice there or even give advise! So do us all a favor and keep your PIE HOLE SHUT!)

CRIMES COMMITTED AGAINST NATALEE

May 30th, 2005 - The Cover Up Had Begun

The activities that were taking place on the Island of Aruba on May 30, 2005 involving Paulus, Joran, Deepak and Satish indicate that the cover up regarding crimes committed against Natalee Holloway were already in the implementation stages.

1. There are those who theorize that Joran van der Sloot was never at the beach with Natalee Holloway. Satish Kalpoe's attorney, Dave Kock, confirms that on the morning of May 30, 2005 cell phone records place Joran van der Sloot near the Marriot Hotel. Also, the gardener places Deepak and Joran across the street from the Marriot beach at 2:30 AM on the morning of May 30, 2005.

RAMOS: Yes, on the day that I gave a declaration at the police force they left me a photograph see from an illustrated magazine. That is the only photograph that they showed me.

6. Did you recognize the faces of the other persons in the car?

RAMOS: Yes, the face of the person who sat beside the driver. When I came past I saw, in the light of my car, that the person beside the driver had his head and face covered with his hands. I have recognized that person from his illustration (photo). You ask me how I recognized the driver who sat beside the man who screened its face? I have seen him in the light of my "in the light of" (van). He moved himself a bit to the back.

In the process, he believed they accidentally killed her, then sought the advice of van der Sloot's prominent father to dispose of the body in the open ocean. Wood believed van der Sloot's father also used his connections to control the investigation. The case remains unsolved.

3. Jossy Mansur conveys to Greta that the caretaker of the Fishermen's Huts located on the Marriott Beach reported that there was a break in on the morning that Natalee Holloway went missing. The items stolen were very significant when the disposal of a body is considered. Tim Miller claims that Gerold Dompig told him he believes that Natalee Holloway could have been put in the stolen fish trap and taken out to sea.

On Friday, EquuSearch founder Tim Miller and a deepwater search team from Florida will travel back to Aruba to search an area three to five miles off the island's coast that is between 800 to 1,000 feet deep, Miller told KPRC Local 2 that Aruba’s police commissioner told him that he feels Holloway might be inside a fish trap dropped deep into the water.

4. In Deepak Kalpoe's suspect statement of June 29, 2005 he concedes that he was creating internet chatter with a friend, John Charles Croes, on the morning of May 30, 2005 to obstruct the investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. How did Deepak know that there was going to be an investigation? Natalee Holloway had yet to be reported missing.

When we got home Satish immediately went to bed. I had switched on the television. I had also turned on the computer in my room. I went and chatted with a friend of mine on “MSN”. I had told the afore mentioned CROES during the chat that we had gone out and that I was waiting for a friend of mine because I had dropped him off on the street together with a girl.

After having chatted with John I went into the living room and watched TV.

You are telling me that John Charles CROES has stated that I wrote while I was chatting with him that I had written that the girl had put her hands in/down my pants, I can say the following. I did this to frustrate/mess up the investigation.

The purpose of the chat traffic was to help the police and the Office of the DA with regard to the investigation so that they could see that I was indeed home in the night from Sunday to Monday.

5. After claiming in his witness statement of June 18, 2005 that he had slept "solidly" through the night of May 30, 2005, Paulus van der Sloot concedes that he may have used his phone.

VAN SUSTEREN: I am most anxious to find out if there was e-mail traffic or phone traffic among the three in custody in the early morning hours of May 30. I am also curious whether Paul van der Sloot used his phone between midnight and 7 a.m. on May 30. He told me no... he told the Dutch TV correspondent on camera no... but after the interview with the Dutch TV correspondent, he pulled him aside and said maybe he did make a call and that he was not sure. Honest mistake or does he fear to be in conflict with phone records now in custody of the police? These questions answered would be, in my mind, a huge jump forward in trying to sort out what did or did not happen.

6. In Rita Cosby and Nancy Grace interviews Beth Twitty claims that Paulus van der Sloot stated on the morning of May 31, 2005 that he had picked up Joran/them (?) at McDonalds at 4:00 AM on the morning of May 30, 2005. Paulus adamantly refutes Beth's words. However, Karin Janssen's official position within the investigation would indicate that she was deriving from a foundational knowledge when she stated that investigators suspected Paulus of being involved in Natalee's disappearance. Then in January 2007, the Superior Court ruled against compensation for Paulus van der Sloot in a wrongful detention lawsuit. The ruling stated that Paulus' detention was justified as his own declaration stated that he had picked up Joran and Natalee at McDonalds on the morning of May 30, 2005.

“They spoke about the situation that when there is no body you don’t have a case, and that was already in the first day after the disappearance,” Janssen said. Janssen said that the elder van der Sloot had obstructed the investigation by asking a friend of Joran, who had been interrogated by police, what he had told them. Janssen told MSNBC that he was arrested because investigators believed he was also a suspect in the disappearance.

The tapped information and his declaration that he picked up Joran and Natalee by the McDonalds Palm Beach and brought them to the Holiday Inn, are clearly understood by the Dept. of Justice, and could in the judgment of this Superior Court, be considered as an indication of the involvement of Paulus in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway."

7. Is there a Steve Croes and Geoffrey Van Comvoirt connection in regards to the assistance that Paulus Van der Sloot may have received if he was instrumental in moving the body Natalee Holloway from the Marriot Beach area on the morning of May 30, 2005? Steve Croes involved himself in the Natalee Holloway case by providing a false alibi for Joran, Deepak and Satish. 9. One of the security guards, Mickey John, claims in the Greta interview of June 29, 2005 that while detained Deepak told him that Paulus was involved in the collaboration of the Holiday Inn fabrication. This would imply that the collaboration must have taken place on May 30, 2005.

He also states that he remembers telling interrogators at Bubali on May 31, 2005 that his vehicle was very clean because he had vacuumed his car the prior evening. This would imply Deepak was questioned by police at Bubali station on May 30, 2005.

Following Jug and Beth Twitty's arrival on the Island on the evening of May 30, 2005, Charles Croes of Aruba Phones was contacted at 11:30 PM by a "major friend" who required assistance pertaining to cell phone information that related to a missing Natalee Holloway. On June 30, 2005 Charles Croes conveyed to Greta that following a 1:30 AM meeting with the Twittys he drove to the cabana area near the Holiday Inn to check whether Natalee was there. Byran Burrough states in the Vanity Fair article that Charles Croes claims he drove to the California lighthouse. Why would it cross Charles Croes mind that Natalee Holloway could possibly have connections to either of these areas – and why would Mr Croes change the location? Could it be that Charles Croes was conversing with Paulus and Joran at the VDS residence following the initial contact with a "major friend" and prior to the late night meeting with the Twittys?

In further attempts to obstruct the truth of the crimes against Natalee Holloway, they threatened to jail Art Woods for not having a permit, created lies about TES disturbing turtle eggs, and statements from Dompig surfaced with unfounded ideas that Natalee died of an overdose.


Dompig then came to the Unites States to question the Mountain Brook teens with a questionnaire prepared by Janssen, and continued his attempts to slander Natalee and her family by undermining her credibility and her innocence with defamatory statements directed at Beth and Dave about insurance scam lies, and insinuating that funds they received to help them find their daughter were mishandled.


These were diversionary tactics utilized by the Aruban Justice Department along with Janssen's statement that "you can't barge in their like cowboys" which was meant to demean American standards while her actions and methodologies were corrupt attempts to protect the suspects by zeroing in on the innocent Security Guards who for 10 days were not in any line-up, only questioned one time, and their alibis ignored.


Karin Janssen and the other Aruban officials continue, even today, along with the bloggers on-line, in planting lies and disrupting forward progress in this case.


The fact that Prosecutor Karin Janssen and polis detectives Dennis Jacobs and Jan van der Straten, all in charge of the investigation, were not pursuing the facts, or the surveillance tapes that demonstrated Natalee never return to the hotel; while ignoring all the contradictions of the statements by Joran and Kalpoe brothers paints a very clear picture indeed. It would seem impossible for any competent professional to come up with the strategical course that Karin Janssen utilized and not realize she was involved in a collusion to cover up these crimes.


Common sense dictates that her swiftness to arrest the Security Guards based on known lies made by the criminals in this case, not obtaining a search warrant for the property of the van der Sloots and surrounding area, not following procedures for testing of DNA which caused that evidence to be rejected by a judge - all supports the cover-up that the world has watched unfold.

THE KALPOES VS. DR. PHIL-- WHAT'S GOING ON?

Any word on the lawsuit? I'm betting on NO WORD. Am I right? I realize all civil lawsuits that go into litigation can take a long time, but let's consider this case. It's not a simple situation. I am sure each attorney is throwing down motion after motion on all the different subject matter and procedural issues; jurisdictional issues such as Deepak not being a U.S. citizen, yet the interview takes place in Aruba, Jamie Skeeters, a defendant, is now deceased. As someone who used to work in civil litigation, I can promise you that all these things will delay and delay and delay...and I can see this case drag on for YEARS. UNLESS someone settles...and I would HOPE Dr. Phil would never do that! Assuming that doesn't happen, I would be very surprised if we hear anything anytime soon.


But remember this... it always must be on the backs of our minds...Deepak et al are trying to cash out on this cow, but WE CANNOT ALLOW IT!

Following what can only be considered a cover up by Aruban officals, Internet bloggers with an obvious agenda to shield the truth in the Natalee Holloway case refer to the confession of June 10, 2005 as an unfounded rumor. However, the Aruban Justice Ministery spokesperson and the Deputy Police Commissioner, respectively, released statements to Fox News and the Associated Press.

These statements confirmed that Natalee Holloway was dead, authorities knew the location of her body and Natalee's family was being taken to her remains. These official statements were based on an admission given by one of the suspects - one of the suspects who Gerold Dompig refused to identify.


1. CONFIRMED DEAD - LOCATION OF BODY IS KNOWN BY AUTHORITIES


On June 10, 2005, a spokesperson for the Aruban Justice Minister made a statement to Fox News that Natalee Holloway was confirmed dead and that authorities knew the location of her body. Fox News confirmed this statement prior to its public release. This statement was later retracted by the Justice Minister but it is logical to assume that the official Aruban spokesperson did not pull the contents of the statement made to Fox News out thin air.

4. AN ANGUISHED FAMILY'S NIGHT IN HELL


On June 10, 2005, the FBI informed Natalee' Holloways mother of the events taking place which implied that her dauther was deceased. Close relatives were notified. The grieving process had begun. It can be assumed that the FBI would not have contributed to Natalee's family ongoing nightmare by sharing information that had not been confirmed by Aruban authorities.

One of these boys has confessed, and Natalee is no longer alive. How do you pull something like that back off the table? Have you had or has your sister had or has anybody in the family had any explanation from Aruban officials whatever happened to this confession, where they buried it?


REYNOLDS: I am not aware of any follow-up information. You know, this seemed to disappear from sight, these confessions did. At the time, we thought that because the investigation is kept secret, we thought it was ongoing, and maybe they just didn't want to release it officially at that time. But, as we see that the appeals, the hearings are showing there's no evidence, but yet we have these confessions, it doesn't make any sense. It's as if they are being hidden or taken away.


SCARBOROUGH: You know, you said—talked about June the 10th. That's when you all were told that the confession had been made, and you said that the family actually started a grieving process. What did the family do?


REYNOLDS: You know, grieving is—it's a difficult process. We were all notified. We exchanged phone calls, making sure everyone in the family was notified. I even had to tell my children, very upsetting to them, very upsetting to all of us.


SCARBOROUGH: Wait, Paul. Are you telling me, back on June the 10th, you told your children, based on the confession of one of these—these punks that took Natalee away from the bar, that Natalee was dead? This was over a month ago. You had to break it to your family, the entire family, Natalee's entire family, because of the confessions, knew that she was dead, and yet here we are over a month later, and they are still claiming they don't have enough evidence to nail these guys?


REYNOLDS: That's absolutely correct. You know, the FBI had informed my sister based on the initial interrogations that that was their belief. That information was given to our family.
