FOUR RESOLUTIONS FROM ALABAMA TO THE U.S GOVERNMENT
WHEREAS, Natalee Holloway, a recent graduate of Mountain Brook High School and a resident of Mountain Brook, Alabama, has been missing in Aruba since the early morning of May 30, 2005; and
WHEREAS, Natalee's family and friends, as well as concerned citizens of this country, have suffered immeasurable grief and anxiety as the Aruban criminal investigation slowly drags on; and
WHEREAS, Beth and Jug Twitty have demonstrated remarkable strength and vigilance during this process and are an inspiration to all; and
WHEREAS, while the world watches this situation and a team of international investigators
work tirelessly for Natalee's recovery, incredibly, no charges have been filed, even though
Aruban authorities have had at least three viable suspects and mounting evidence of their
criminal wrongdoing; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of this country and the friends and family of Natalee Holloway are
becoming increasingly concerned that the Aruban criminal justice system simply is not
handling the case properly, while potential evidence is not collected and valuable time fades
away; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That by copy of this resolution to each member of the Alabama Congressional delegation, we hereby resolve as follows:
(1) We urge Congress to open an investigation of the Natalee Holloway disappearance, and
to use every power to influence the Aruban Government to vigorously pursue its own
investigation of this situation, and to fully cooperate and coordinate with United States law
enforcement agencies in order to maximize investigatory efforts in this case.
(2) We recognize and commend the strength, courage, and vigilance of Beth and Jug Twitty, and direct that a copy of this resolution be provided to them as an expression of our support.
