ARUBA GOES TO WASHINGTON

Montgomery, AL (AHN) - Aruban officials will meet with officials in Washington to discuss details of the investigation into missing teen Natalee Holloway, said a congressman on Monday. Rep. Spencer Bachus, R-Ala., said the meetings will be held later this week, but did not specify which officials would be present. He would only say they would meet with him and "criminal justice and law enforcement officials," reports The Associated Press.

"This meeting will provide an opportunity, out of the media glare and in as unemotional manner as possible, for the Aruban and Dutch authorities to give a detailed review of the facts and evidence in the case, and to present us with information regarding the progress of the investigation and of their efforts and intentions going forward," Bachus said in a statement.

I hope that the Holloway Twitty family get to attend these meetings and confront the Arubans directly.

Seems that they're not too fond of hearing questions anymore.

Again, it's my own belief that everything Aruba does now is aimed at its own people. They know, and we know, that they are not going to do anything on Natalee ... their concern is to placate their own people so as to keep their place in power.

So if they come to a meeting here, they will go back to the happy island telling everyone that the U.S. government is content with what they're doing.

Let's hope that the Holloway Twitty family are there to confront them ... and that our own government won't be doing some kind of deal behind their backs.

It's also time to examine the extent of the deployment on Aruba of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) assets.

Seems to me that the Arubans are well poised to profit two ways from this: one, for the financial assistance they must be getting.

Two, to use inside information to make sure that THEIR drug shipments get through.

I'll be doing some research into this, and if I hear anything will post it here. Since the only thing that seems to matter to Aruba is hitting it in the pocketbook ... let's slam it, if that's what it takes to get answers in the cases of the two (Natalee and that man) Americans who have met tragedy in Aruba.
