ARUBA AND THEIR USUAL LAME EXCUSES
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (eTurboNews) -- Serious sunshiny days and sun-kissed smiles are about to greet the Caribbean island of Aruba sometime soon. Tourism has been shattered by the case of a single incident of an Alabama girl missing since spring break of last year. Closure on the case of Natalee Holloway's disappearance seems imminent. The timeline drawn is about six to seven months from yesterday's announcement.
This, according to SMDG Consulting Team chairman Stephen Cohen, adviser to the Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association (AHATA) and the Aruba Strategic Communications Task Force who spoke at the Caribbean Marketplace being held in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Cohen's team is tasked with bringing out the facts in the case and establishing a more orderly approach in dealing with the media in a crisis situation. A seasoned television news expert from CBS, Cohen has been part of the SMDG team since the beginning of the investigations.
If current findings are true, Cohen said they are going to accelerate their efforts. Extensive search for forensic evidence continues. Yesterday, 50 members of the Aruban police department searched extensively through the dune by the lighthouse in search for clues.
"Anything DNA that is identified to be of Natalee's will allow us to bring a strong case forward against the three boys. We are also getting to finally talk to some of the Alabama teens who left on that plane and did not wait around for interrogation," said Cohen. (So what? You are free to interrogate them at home. Why is it that so much blame gets passed around to others...and never the suspects.)
Aruba believes it is most important to get a hold of her mental state and most importantly, Natalee's physical state at the time of disappearance. "Two of the boys said they had consensual sex with her. Whether consensual or not, depends on her ability to be conscious and make a choice," said Cohen.
The SMDG is in the process of reviewing all the United States Federal Bureau of Investigations reports. The FBI has been involved in the Holloway case in the first 72 hours of the initial complaint and remained on the island for several months, serving as observers and advisors to the local police. They have also conducted interviews in the US and processed evidentiary materials.
Six FBI agents from the Miami office flew in after the first night. The family hired their own private investigators who've worked with the FBI. "In the final interrogation, there were people on the island who had pieces of the timeline they saw. Like the boys on the beach when they said they were; what fishermen were down on the area that night. Because of the influx of outside media on the island, people were fearful of coming forward," said Cohen. (Maybe because those witnesses were threatened by murder or serious harm to their family? That's the usual protocol on Aruba.)
It is just recently when local authorities were able to create a climate they can trust the investigators where foreign media is not present in that intensity. All these people of Aruba, on the periphery of the case are all significant to solving it.
From the time Natalee disappeared Aruba has been focused on finding her. From the outset, the island has continuously waged a highly professional (I beg to differ.) extensive and intensive effort to find the teen. It sought and utilized help from the world's experts on missing persons. (But then Aruba turned them away later on. Why?)
The people have continued to cooperate and collaborate with private search and investigative efforts by the families and credible groups, according to the tourism association. (Isn't this the same association that hasn't reported their tourism statistics?)
Natalee's mom Beth, together with the Governor of Alabama, have jointly called for a boycott against the people of Aruba. (This was a VOLUNTARY boycott to the American people, which has been misconstrued as a boycott of Aruba for the entire United States.) This had been elevated to a diplomatic level with which the representative of the Dutch Kingdom in the USA, also the Ambassador of the Dutch Kingdom in Washington, got involved. (And he should have gotten involved a LONG time ago! The Netherlands owns this island...they need to take care of their business and have FAILED miserably.)
Governors of Alabama, Arkansas and Georgia have encouraged residents of their states not to visit Aruba in order to protest the handling of the disappearance of Natalee. However, the boycott has not received support from the US State Department. Neither did it gain the support of Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour who did not think it was appropriate. (Who cares what those Governor's think? This boycott is a grassroots effort...which can be stronger than the government itself. Ever heard of Martin Luther King, Jr., or Rosa Parks?)
On November 2, 2005 during a meeting with the Strategic Communications Task Force, Mrs. Twitty stated that during a conversation on October 5, 2005, with the Governor of Alabama the Governor asked her what she wanted: "Do you want an economic boycott of the island or do you want to find your daughter?," Twitty explicitly said she wanted to find her daughter. She further clarified that such action would not be helpful in finding Natalee. (So she changed her mind...and why? Because the people she was dealing with in Aruba were outright cruel and demeaning, such as "Wait...I haven't had my frosted flakes yet!" Also don't forget they refused her plea find answers...they got annoyed with her, so no return phone calls, no communication. Nothing. I'd be mad as hell too! Who wouldn't?)
Cohen said that pieces of American media have fed frenziedly on the story for their own purposes. (I would agree...that's why I stopped watching FOX and MSNBC...I get my information from blogs...which seem to be more credible than the mass media.) This case is the continuing interest on such a soap opera level, and not of great significance to the American public and proves little consideration for the Arubans whose livelihood is based on tourism - contributing seven percent to GDP.
Minister for tourism and transport Edison Briesen said his industry has remained resilient. There has been no impact on economy after the boycott. (NOT YET...and I believe I read somewhere that tourism in Aruba has been declining.)
Further, massive support from 78 municipalities in the country has seen all the mayors rallying behind the campaign to promote tourism against all odds, through the closure of a case of one American missing in an island whose crime rate low: that is 0 or 1 murder per year.
This is not about Natalee's murder...it's how it has been handled by your government and police force. It is a conspiracy between certain Aruban officials, PVDS, Joran, Deepak, Satish, Koen, and many more.

These people, this island, those spin-wanna-be's (can't describe them as "spin-masters" since the only thing they seem to have mastered is probably part of their own anatomy).
Spin Evidence:
They start out with saying " ... Tourism has been shattered by the case of a single incident of an Alabama girl missing..."
Then the bashing begins: Cohen says about the MB STUDENTS, "...did not wait around for interrogation" ... Those bad kids, is the intention here. So let's see they SHOULD have stayed... what 48 hours... beyond their departure time to wait and see IF the LE did think they might take a missing person's report... and then however long it took them to decide if they ought to interview the students. THIS IS MORE BLATANT BASHING OF ANY AMERICAN ASSOCIATED WITH THE CASE. I am sick of it.
Then he goes on about TWO of them admitting to sex with her. Does this MEAN he knows the Skeeter's tape was real... and WHY would a marketing guy have this knowledge when they can't talk to the mother for so long.But... the point is THOSE SAME TWO have also SAID she was going in and out of consciousness, she was "drunk"... she was "out of it" .... IF their statement about sex is accepted (and appears to be) doesn't it seem like their statements about her mental state should be considered too. They were aferall there.
Oh and NOW we have more MEDIA BASHING... you see it was OUR INTEREST that caused all the problems as usual in this case because those every day little Aruban citizens were so anxious to come forward but that BIG BAD AMERICAN MEDIA SCARED THEM SO MUCH as evident from the Cohen classic, "...Because of the influx of outside media on the island, people were fearful of coming forward..."
ARUBA ... run THIS GUY SHOOTS YOU IN THE FOOT FASTER THAN YOU CAN HOBBLE.
But then... (background music to The Lone Ranger).... DOMPIG (puh-lease) rides in to save the day... after all his tough effort according to Cohen, "... just recently when local authorities were able to create a climate they can trust... "
And just so we don't leave anyone out in the AMERICAN BASHING Cohen adds, "not of great significance to the American public..." IS HE BLIND AND DEAF TOO?
Now look back up at the premise for the article... just above... then look at the closing assertion.... "proves little consideration for the Arubans whose livelihood is based on tourism ---- There has been no impact on economy after the boycott..."
Okay Aruban Rule number three in spinning... WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS... CONTRADICT YOURSELF.
Oh, so Aruba is giving top priority to figuring out Natalee's physical and mental condition when she vanished?
What in Hell is THAT supposed to mean?
Are you trying to imply something about her? Got any facts, Cohen, you filthy media whore?
Maybe you ought to make your goal to find Natalee and punish the people responsible for her vanishing. Here's a little hint: Beth Holloway Twitty and her family went to Aruba and figured out who was last seen with Natalee. They handed that information to your police on a platter.
It's been eight months ... and all that your legal system has accomplished is to release the "suspects" and declare that Paul vdS, despite his many LIES, is no longer a suspect.
We think lawyers are bad in the U.S. ... well, we're not as scummy as Aruba.
But your day is coming.
Steve Cohen tries to think himself as a woman as her thought of inviting rapists for thrill of it. Do you know Aruban catholics are forbidden to wear undies because many others using undies as contraceptive means. Cohen is one of those naturilzed Arubans who have no undies. Steve can freely second guess, spiritually, sensually, emotionally and politically in medium with the outside world of women and men in terms of their thoughts on sex matter and affairs. Cohen really thinks the raped victim is her fault, and he believes she did it to herself. Steve does not need undies, he is a bisexual. He entertains conveniently on his own genders. Oh, he would say, it was just a thought. Good grief!
The above post is an excellent rebutal of Steven Cohen's assertion of the two boys had consensual sex with Natalee. Cohen ought to resign from the board of directors of Court TV. He is a sum of convulutions, and he is maddening!
Don't worry, folks. Tourism numbers are coming...Aruba can hide their own findings but the individual companies that do business with Aruba- cruise lines, airlines, hotel chains- publish their numbers on a corporate level. Not an exact result, but it will paint a good picture. I do know that cruises are way down, despite more calls to Aruban ports.
About the crime stats: Aruba is not a free country, folks, it is a dictatorship well-disguised. The Aruban people hear only what the government wants them to hear, see only what the government wants them to see. Not only can the government pick and choose what crimes they report (and how those are counted), they can also choose what is considered a crime! For example, since rape is apparently perfectly legal in Aruba, Aruba can honestly report no rapes occur there! Someone posted crime stats in Aruba for 2005 on one of these blogs, but kidnappings, missing persons, and rape and sexual assault were all conspicuously absent.
People don't bury nickels, they bury fortunes. And we caught Aruba with the shovel.
aruba steve, baghdad bob, and jvds, 3 of a kind. they are incapable of ordering breakfast without lying.

Boycott Not Working MrsKrass? Then let's use what of THEIR OWN FIGURES we do have... as cowboys are apt to say at in a card game... Read 'Em and Weep:
Let's use THEIR OWN FIGURES FROM THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT:
Interesting Bits of Info. I found a some parts and pieces of information that I thought others would think interesting. (Following my comment or quote... will be the link to where I got it.)
This is just too sad:
"As much as 196 businesses stopped operating in 2005 in comparison to 109 businesses that did so in 2004. The first half of 2005 was good for businesses on the island contrary to the second half of the year where many businesses had to struggle."
And... ever one to point the finger in all the wrong places. Look what they list first versus last to explain their economic problems:
"The hurricanes that devastated parts of the U.S. as well as the ongoing War on Iraq are to blame for less U.S. travel abroad and noticeably less tourists from the U.S. market to Aruba in 2005 according to the preliminary report of the Chamber. The rise in oil prices and thus higher costs on electricity and water tariffs have somewhat added pressure on the economy. The disappearance of Natalee Holloway in June 2005 may have played a role as well in business activity setback."

Ah. It seems the skies are not as friendly over Aruba:
"A few charter companies have decided to cancel their flights to Aruba for this winter for various reasons."
"American Trans Air (ATA) cancelled their weekly Saturday flight from Chicago to Aruba. The company blames severe financial troubles, fewer aircrafts and declining demand for seats to Aruba and other cities."
"Apple Vacations cancelled this winter's weekly Sunday flight from Chicago and Detroit to Aruba due to less aircraft in operation in the aftermath of hurricane Wilma in Cancun and low load factors. Mark Travel/Transglobal also cancelled this winter's Minneapolis Sunday charter operation to Aruba due to high fuel costs and low load factors."

Ever maintaining the complete state of denial, why tell the truth when a lie will do:
"Hotels on the island did receive cancellations in the last 5 months. However hotel managers are not blaming the cancellations entirely on the disappearance of Natalee Holloway."
http://www.aruba-bb.com/viewtopic.php?t=26282
Now this is sad. Let's see that's two steps back and two steps back:
"average hotel occupancy rates fell by 6.2 percentage points in September 2005 in comparison to September 2004.... the lowest occupancy rate since June 2003."
http://www.aruba-bb.com/viewtopic.php?t=25240
Now this is just sick:
"Employees in the tourism sector will follow additional courses in so to further improve their motivation and qualities. This will improve the service to tourists who may eventually be more inclined to visit Aruba again." (I want to see the Training Module on Please Don't Hurt The Tourists.)(Further, the Training Packet on Thou Shalt Not Lie, Cover-up and Blame should be a page turner too.)

This page is just too much to believe. It is THE new plan. Sheesh. It is most amazing that they had to HIRE SOMEONE TO TELL THEM THESE THINGS. These are just examples from here:
"In the global society of today where there is more fear than ever a destination should try to play a better role by for instance adding security guards and police. "People are more at ease when there is security personnel around, it does not matter if it is necessary or not."
"He asked tourism officials to ignore the negative press regarding the case and to focus on what Aruba is good at. Getting involved on every negative report from the media draws more negative attention says Greenberg."
Has anyone told them you can eat DENIAL.. "According to the tour operators Aruba has done very well so far and the effects of the Holloway affaire are marginal."
http://www.aruba-bb.com/viewtopic.php?t=25205
If you give it an Upbeat Title and NOT do the math.. is it still a decline:
"In a research conducted by the Central Bureau for Statistics in the 2nd quarter of 2005 shows that 6.3 percent of the visitors to Aruba have chosen the island on recommendation from their travel agency. That percentage was 15.7 percent in the 2nd quarter of 2004."
None of the remaining figures are for beyond July 2005. Wonder why?
http://www.aruba-bb.com/viewtopic.php?t=25102
Oh my something DID go UP in Aruba. I'll bet they are so pleased (NOT):
INFLATION - "The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 3.5 percent in the 2nd quarter of 2005 according to the quarterly report released by the Central Bank of Aruba on November 2nd. The CPI of 3.5 percent in the 2nd quarter of 2005 has accelerated substantially from the CPI of 2.4 percent in the 1st quarter of this year."

Well... that's the market update for Aruba... let's KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. Tell them WE WANT NATALEE, WE WANT TRUTH, WE WANT JUSTICE.
