BOYCOTT NOT WORKING? MY ASS....

I was out and about yesterday and saw this on a car in a parking lot. I had to get a picture of it to show the non-believers that this isn't some game. This is FOR REAL. We will boycott Aruba until Dompig and all the ALE officials and everyone else involved allows the FBI come in and investigate, including Texas Equuasearch that WAS NOT allowed to come back to Aruba to do searching.

Have you noticed that NO ONE has searched the water were they believe Natalee was dumped? Why hasn't this been done?

I don't know how realy successful the boycott is. I just got back from Aruba with my daugher's class (we're from miami) and it was packed. There were places that were sold out and spring breakers everywhere. The hotel we stayed at has occupancy rates 27% higher than last year (they have it displayed with a chart and graph). I've been chaperoning spring breaks for almost 8 years now and the Aruba trip was definitely one of the best. We've booked ahead for the next 3 years and so have many, many Florida schools. The concierge said they've got 13 more Florida groups coming this spring break alone. That's alot. We had a blast, everyone was safe and all parents were were more than satisfied. Can't ask for a better spring break trip.

To the person I just deleted...how could I have posted that car sticker from the INSIDE of a stranger's car? On top of that, I saw it while I was out of town!

If you think I need a new hobby, then maybe you should consider getting a new hobby as well instead of talking about me on your stupid forum. At least WE ARE DOING SOMETHING. I'd say that's an admirable hobby.

You guys think you're so smart. My last name isn't even Simonsen. So there. HA HA HA!!!!!!!

Aruba's deep discounts are killing all the waiters and waitress. Their tips income are low or nothing. The busboys are mad and they dump all the dirty dishes into the trash dumpsters. The hotels are bleeding and suffer big losses because the tourists are not ordering much expensive meals. Many travelers bring their hotdogs and buns and do barbacueing on the beach.

So yes Much safer I guess

I live in Miami as well -- in Miami, not the vicinity of -- and I don't know what billboard you are referring to, but I've never seen a billboard with Beth on it.

What's odd to me about the first post is -- if you live in Miami, why would students need to go 'elsewhere' outside of Florida for Spring Break!

Unless the 'taming' of Spring Break by the police (at the demand of residents)in Miami and Ft Lauderdale forces you to go elsewhere for more 'excitement'.

A Dutch oil company giving away the half priced Aruba packages to employees' awards program. More like Dutch helping Dutch thing. The KLM Dutch World Airway also deeply discounts on the Aruba routes.

So around $500 USD for a Full Week Spring Break in Aruba that's what you going to spend. Aruba is in big trouble.

anonymous. This poster has been online for months saying their husband is a surgeon, a college professor blah blah ..they are friends of the VDS. Joran stays at their house in Miami for months at Thanksgiving, everyone loves him.. thousands on class trips going to Aruba, they also said there's a billboard at college about Beth, so I called them on it months ago still no picture of the billboard. Nothing against the people of Miami. Not all of them are like that.. thank God.

Someone PLEASE let me know if Joran is planning on spending Thanksgiving in Miami -- I'll invite him to my house for some, ummm, appetizers! Yeah that's the ticket! I'll even have some 151 on hand.

There really is NOT any billboard that I have seen with Beth -- and U of M is close by, I drive by the area all the time. What is the billboard saying? Maybe they meant it's an 8 by 11 poster on the bulletin board where people are looking to sell cars and condos. That I would never see.Or maybe they're referring to a different 'college' in Miami. Maybe Barry University? I'd be interested in more specific info --it would be VERY easy for me to check it out.

Thanks for giving some of us in Miami the benefit of the doubt:-) As to the travel boycott -- it's not 'advertised' here. But my family and the majority of my friends (Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Palm Beach, Martin County)wouldn't go to Aruba if the trip was free. And since there are gambling establishments in South Florida now - even the gamblers says they will stay away.

I know Miami gets a bad rap -- and a lot of it is deserved. The proximity to South America and the Caribbean leads to....well I don't have to tell anyone about that. But there really are a lot of 'normal' and very nice people here -- we just don't get on the news:-)

Mmmmm -- Paulus, Anita and JVDS for Thanksgiving -- I better start preparing now. And since Shaq is now part of the Miami Beach police -- maybe they need to meet.

Anon from Miami--

You are awesome with a great attitude towards this whole mess. I've been to Miami once (Miami Beach) and I had a fabulous time. I loved it there. Sure, it gets a bad rap...but there are plenty of great cities with their bad sides. It's reality!

If anyone in Florida or any state wants to vacation, why not the Florida Keys? How about Puerto Rico? It is owned by the U.S. No jurisdiction problems there that I'm aware of. Don't forget Hawaii for those of you that can afford it. :) The Grand Tetons, Glacier National Park, the Rocky Mountains, the Grand Canyon, the Appalachians, the beautiful sights and history of New England, the Redwood Forests of California, the untained beauty of Oregon and Washington State. Shall I go on?

I'd like to remind people that there are thousands of other destinations in the U.S. to choose from. Does anyone not see the beauty of our country? Why spend your hard earned U.S. dollars and give it to another country? We are in a budget crunch and spending billons in the war. Keep our money here!

Screw Aruba! Stay in the U.S.!

Thanks Miami anon! It's nice to see good people with common sense posting here. There are too many disgusting people out there that try and spew their hatred and evilness.

You made my morning!

Definitely vacation in Puerto Rico-born and raised there I can tell you that even though the island is not a state, is part of the US. You want FBI?? You GOT FBI.

Puerto Rico is a Commonwealth of the United States, and receives a lot of support, grants, benefits, like the other states. Same currency, same citizenship, of course just as you know where you are going or book a tour package to save time~you get wonderful beaches, AWESOME food, great music to dance to and bilingual Spanish/English people always willing to help ;)

Another kewl thing to do, for those that are "fearless", rock climbing, rappelling, cave exploring, amongst other things:

Thanks Whytegirl! I've never been to Puerto Rico, but my ex has several times, and I used to have friends that played professional volleyball that came from Puerto Rico. Sweet guys! Wonderful place.

Thanks for the info!!! You can always email michellesaysso@yahoo.com if you want to share more info.
