AN OPEN LETTER TO LIONEL RICHIE
By Richard R., Aruban Boycott Contributor
Dear Mr. Richie:
I am informed that you can be reached at this e-mail address. According to a press release from Aruba, you are among the performers who will be participating in a music festival in that country in October. I am asking you to reconsider.
You are certainly aware of the case of Natalee Holloway, the Alabama teen who disappeared in Aruba on May 30, 2005. Her disappearance remains unsolved. There is strong reason to believe that elements of the Aruban government have participated in destroying evidence and have otherwise engaged in a cover-up to protect certain individuals of Aruba from prosecution.
The family of Natalee Holloway have been grappling with a foreign government since her disappearance, and this with virtually no public comment from our own government, which might be expected to at least show an interest in the fate of an American abroad.
The Aruban government is hoping that Americans will forget about Natalee, and that "business as usual" will resume. So far, the American people have rallied behind Natalee's case. Tourism to Aruba has plunged, and continues to decline. I believe that this is the strongest leverage we can use to induce Aruba to do its duty.
For this reason, I believe that participation in this October event is ill-advised. Indeed, given that a music festival such as this presumably would attract younger people, it might lead to similar cases. We do not need more missing young Americans.
In light of this danger, might I ask that you make public your resolution that you will not participate in this event until the fate of Natalee Holloway has been made clear and that swift and vigorous punishment will be imposed on anyone convicted of crimes against her? Artists traditionally have been the ones to speak up in defense of the oppressed.
The Holloway Twitty family has been grappling with Aruba since their daughter vanished. If this is not a case deserving the sympathy and support of every American, what can be? Neither the world at large nor the Aruban government will heed my words, but a declaration from you will carry significant weight. Please speak out for justice. I appreciate your attention and assistance on this matter.

You've got to be kidding , right? Since you posted this, the pro Joran forces have bombarded the record label with congratulations, can't wait to hear the concert and about 400 other positive messages.
MICHELLE SAYS IT BEST !!!
BRAVO!
Take my word for it. Styx and Lionel Richie don't care about positive messages. It's the bad ones that will hurt future earnings that matter. Keep e-mailing these groups letting them know that you are trouble by there participation at this event. And aren't gonna support them anymore. They people are use to getting praise. They react to the negative.
Kyle--have fun at the concert. I hope you drink too much beer and puke.
