GERALDO AND O'REILLY'S TAKE ON 48 HOURS RATINGS AND DOMPIG'S INCOMPETENCE

The Bill O'Reilly Show
Aired April 14, 2006

Bill O'Reilly:

This 48 Hours thing…none of it rang true to me…none of it!

Geraldo:

I think it’s all fake, to tell you the truth. Let me point out that their primary sources in their interview they did several weeks ago…with Gerald Dompig, the Deputy Chief of Police. The very same man who has led this utterly failed investigation from the very beginning.

I mean, I think this is the man who is primarily responsible for screwing this thing up. And now for him to come out and slander the dead and say that she died of an overdose of alcohol and maybe drugs because people saw her drinking heavily. We know that from the surveillance tape…that is true like every other 18-year old that goes to Aruba. They go there because they can drink heavily and no one monitors them, and also that she had drugs. But he doesn’t have any witnesses seeing her consuming drugs, he doesn’t suggest how she buried herself after she had this overdose. I really do this it is an assumption…

Bill O'Reilly:

It’s bizarre. If you are a police officer, and you are in charge of an investigation, you don’t hypothesize about somebody’s death if you don’t have a body!

Geraldo:

First of all, let me say something about drugs on Aruba. I went undercover in front of C&C…with Natalee’s uncles. We walked up and down that street, we were approached by every third person with cocaine to sell…and marijuana to sell. Now whether or not someone slipped her a date rape drug…I don’t know. But I would advise Gerald Dompig…if he wants to help out the people of Aruba why doesn’t he clean up those drug dealers right in front of C&C instead of attacking the 18-year old girl on CBS.

Bill O'Reilly:

He has no solid evidence to do that. Now the new witness apparently told Dompig that he knows where the body is buried.

Geraldo:

It’s preposterous! First of all, we know that Natalee was drunk because Joran tells us that he was screwing her as she lapsed in and out of consciousness.

Bill O'Reilly:

Easy on the language…the Holloway family might be watching.

Geraldo:

But Beth is as angry as I am about this. So, he is saying he is raping her in essence because you can’t give consent when you are drunk, certainly not when you are drugged. So, he’s raping her, she’s in and out of consciousness. We know that she was in an altered state of consciousness. Now could she have used drugs? Maybe. Could she have been dosed with Rohpynol or one of those other date rape drugs in C&C? Maybe.

We never thought that Joran and these other guys killed her for a malicious act of homicide. It was always an accidental death, not a murder. It was either rough sex, or she did have some kind of overdose and they panicked and they dumped her body. Now they have this new search that they are ordering from one end of the island…near the lighthouse one more time. And I think that’s the new witness.

Bill O'Reilly:

If this guy came forward two months ago and they can’t search the area in two months? Does that make any sense?

Geraldo:

First of all, it’s not sand, it’s coral…it’s hard coral. There’s no way they took her body and drilled into that coral when you have the ocean right outside…

Bill O'Reilly:

I blame the Aruban authorities for this.

Geraldo:

Of course you do. And I think they have blown the investigation…and why they did this on 48 Hours…

Bill O'Reilly:

You know why 48 Hours did it. They got a big rating out of it.
